Office costs could be reduced by updating technology as part of Peninsula's work smarter initiative. Following an initial audit, the scheme works to digitise paperwork, which can then be edited and updated on computer, stored on local hard drives and retrieved when needed.
Chief executive, Andy Twemlow, explained: "Using more efficient office systems helps businesses achieve a greater competitive edge, increasing their ability to respond to customers and deal with day-to-day office priorities. It also helps control office costs, which is obviously popular at present."
Business affairs spokesperson for GWE Business West, Nigel Hutchings, added: "All organisations face a common problem if they expand, as paperwork can increase to the point where effective administration becomes a serious issue. Smarter office systems, including those that allow staff to work with less paper, are synonymous with efficient office practice, as they release companies to concentrate on increasing sales and profitability."
